The Communication Gap
engineers talk in 'Features' and 'Risks'. Executives talk in 'Revenue' and 'Speed'. To bridge this gap, you need a story.
### The Hero's Journey (Refactor Edition)
1. **The Status Quo:** 'Our current monolith is stable but slow.' 2. **The Inciting Incident:** 'Black Friday traffic crashed the checkout service.' 3. **The Quest:** 'Migration to Microservices.' 4. **The Dragon:** 'Legacy dependency hell.' 5. **The Victory:** '99.99% uptime and faster deployments.'
Frame it in Business Value
Don't say: 'We need to upgrade React versions.' Say: 'Upgrading React will reduce page load by 300ms, which correlates to a 5% conversion lit.'
Conclusion
Your code controls the machine. Your story controls the people who fund the machine.
